Help our donkeys make it through the tough Arizona summer by contributing to the cost of feed, vet bills, and most importantly, water.
Our Mission
We take in donkeys that need our help. Some are abandoned, some come from auctions or killpens, or some come from people that have fallen on hard times. They find vet care, farrier help and alot of love and attention here. The donkeys that are older or have chronic conditions will always have a home here. The younger ones, we vet and halter/ trailer train, and sometimes put on a pack saddle or get them ready to do a burro race. Every donkey that we adopt out, we know their personalities, habits, likes and dislikes. We try to find the perfect match person for them.
How You Can Help
We are 501 c(3), we do this for the love of these smart, amazing animals that give us back so much. We have been self funded up until now, but find that with the cost of feed, vet bills and now water, we am going to need some help to keep this going. We also board and train a few animals here and 100% of the money that is made from that, and the adoption of our animals, goes back into the sanctuary. Water has become one of our biggest needs. Due to our remote location and drought, the cost of hauling water has tripled.
Sponsor a Donkey or Volunteer
We are reaching out for sponsors for some of our old or sick donkeys which are the sanctuary donks. You would get a picture and a bio of your donkey and updates on it. Also you would always be welcome to come see him or her. You can also just do a one time donation to the sanctuary for feed, etc. All donations are tax deductable...volunteers and fosters are always needed. We really need someone who is handy on social media (Facebook, Instagram, etc). Each of the donkeys has their own story. They come from some sad situations but their life here now is happy and safe.
